First Baptist Church Midway Leadership

First Baptist Church Midway is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Bradley Watson

Pastor

Bradley Watson was called to FBC Midway in December of 2019. After serving several churches as an interim pastor, God led him here to serve as our pastor.

Bro. Brad is passionate about the Word of God and uses that passion to serve the church. He believes that the Christian life is to be centered on living according to the principles given in scriptures.

As a pastor, he believes that each member of the church is vital for the growth of the church as well as the ministry that has been given to her by God. Therefore discipleship and worship are intricate elements of the Church.

He graduated from ETBU in 1985 as well as Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1992.

Bro. Brad and Lisa have been married since 1985. They have two adult married children and nine grandchildren.

Michael Mathews

Worship Leader

My name is Michael Mathews. I have been the worship leader at Midway Baptist Church for the past six years. It has been my blessing and privilege to answer a call from the Lord to engage in this journey of learning to worship and to lead in worship of our great GOD. It has been challenging and rewarding to experience the change that happens when you walk with the Lord.

As Adrian Rogers has said, “Everything we are involved in should be an act of worship.“ Music is a powerful medium...almost an Angelic language. It moves us and marks the times of our lives through spiritual music, such as hymns and praise songs, all focused on our Lord JESUS Christ. Music can help us to elevate our spirits to rise above the plain of our problems, and to help us assume the posture of worship and praise, which in turn helps us to renew and rededicate our hearts and lives to the Glory of our great God.

I greatly enjoy fellowship and worship with fellow believers and to serve and magnify our Lord Jesus Christ.

Personal profile:

Born 11/20/60

Born again at a revival in 1976...here in Texarkana

Maintenance worker at local school

Carpenter/cabinet builder.

Father of 3-sons

Have 6 grandchildren

Hobbies: tennis player, golfer, wood carver, camping, fishing, floating
